[Alarmed by the moogles' warning, Saleh heads out to investigate. The darkness in the sky and the Heartless pouring down is extremely unsettling. Regardless, Saleh brings out his Divine tome and attempts to cast.]

[Except instead of the yellow ball of light magic, his outstretched hand only causes the ground in front of him to shatter unevenly, causing the sage to lose his own balance and fall to the ground. Luckily, the unforeseen attack brought the frontmost Heartless to the ground as well.]

[Saleh stood up, in utter confusion as to why his spell didn't work. There was no time to wonder as the Heartless were recovering and rushing towards him. The sage quickly fled, dashing into the nearest building and slamming the door, leaning against it to prevent the Heartless from breaking in. And then he brings out his communicator.]

I could use some help... Is anyone out there? I can't seem to use my magic...

The darkness is closing in... Great Dragon...how could it have come to this?

[There's a long pause as Saleh catches his breath, gathering his wits.]

This is surreal...but this is our chance. We've lost so much to the darkness, so we must protect what little we have left. There is only one answer now; we must fight.
